Luke 24:32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
When the Lord opens up scripture to us it touched us deeply on the inside. Speak to me, O Father.
Luke 24:32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”
When the Lord opens up scripture to us it touched us deeply on the inside. Speak to me, O Father.
John 10:42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.
Jesus enables us to believe in Him where we are physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Luke 24:33-34 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and said, “It is true! The Lord has risen!”
Do I really believe it is true? May I live in light of His glorious resurrection.
John 7:5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him.
Believing in Christ will cause division, even amidst our own family.
Luke 24:25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
May I not be foolish and slow to believe. Lord, help me to be wise and ready to trust Your Word!
John 6:60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
Even the disciples had questions and concerns, but they remained faithful despite the things they found hard to accept.
Luke 24:24 “Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”
Simply because we can’t “see” Jesus doesn’t nullify he fact that He is the resurrected Lord of all.
John 5:14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”
Having a disability, while challenging, doesn’t compare to the punishment we endure if we chose death over eternal life.
Luke 24:21 but we had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel.
Even today we have certain expectations of Jesus that get dashed. But His ways are not our ways. We need to trust Him even when we are disappointed in how He acts…or doesn’t act.
John 3:1-2 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
Notice the pronoun, “we.” Clearly, other Pharisees knew Jesus was from God, but Nicodemus was the only one to come to Jesus. Do I talk to Jesus when I do not understand? Or, do I remain anonymous, afraid, self-righteous, and bitter?
