Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

In 1997, at the tender age of 18, Jeremy Curry was dealt a devastating blow that would impact the rest of his life.  Just as he was planning to enter the United States Marine Corps, he was diagnosed with a genetic eye condition that was causing him to go blind.  Completely stunned, Jeremy found himself thrown into a pit of despair with overwhelming feelings of anger, depression, and fear toward God and toward life.  With faith in God and help from his friends and family, Jeremy began to climb out of the emotional hole that he found himself in.

Despite an enormous challenge that faced Jeremy, he pulled himself out of the emotional

chasm and began to face it head on.  He moved forward through years of adversity to earn a B.S. in Education, start an Internet service provider, and eventually join the Ai Squared team, where he works to make the world accessible through technology for people who are blind or visually impaired.  “We can either break free from our struggles in life or they can destroy us. It’s our choice,” states Jeremy.  “Faith in God is what can pull us through if we wait on Him and trust in Him.”

In 2001, Jeremy married his lovely wife, Erin.  They currently reside in Northeastern Indiana with their two dogs, including his Guiding Eyes dog, Darren, a black labrador who has always been by Jeremy’s side since they partnered together in 2009.

Darren“My passion and personal goal is to spread hope to others who may be in the midst of adversity.  I want others to be able to know that they can overcome whatever it is that they are going through with God’s help,” says Jeremy.  “It is not my blind faith that will help you overcome, but YOUR blind faith.  As part of our mission, we aim to encourage and motivate you to pull you out of the hole you are in and put you back on track to a path that is right with the Lord.”
