Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
Lord, may I not be stupid.
Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.
Lord, may I not be stupid.
Luke 17:12-13 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
I need to cry out to the Lord, asking Him to work powerfully in my life.
Luke 17:10So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ ”
May I serve the Lord faithfully with the gifts You have given me.
Luke 17:6 He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
Even a small amount of faith can activate God’s miracle working power.
1 Kings 19:11-13 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
The Lord can speak in a gentle whisper. Am I listening for Him?
Luke 17:3-5 “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
Apparently ongoing forgiveness was just as hard for the disciples as it is for us. In fact, it requires praying for increased faith. Do I ask the Lord to help me forgive?
1 Kings 18:1 After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.”
“After a long time”…I need to remember that sometimes, it will be a “long time” before I hear the word of the Lord.
Luke 17:1 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.”
May my words, attitudes, and actions not be a stumbling block for others.
1 Kings 17:7-9 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him: “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”
The Lord knows when things will “dry up” and has already prepared a way for me to continue doing His work.
Luke 16:17 It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.
Your Word will come true!
