Luke 21:7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”
We are preoccupied with “when” the Lord will answer our prayers. We need to simply trust His timing no matter what.
Luke 21:7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”
We are preoccupied with “when” the Lord will answer our prayers. We need to simply trust His timing no matter what.
Proverbs 27:21 The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise.
May I remain humble in spite of praise and remain faithful to You, Lord.
Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Father, help me to be able to confess my sins to You and grant me mercy, oh Lord.
Luke 20:23 Jesus saw through their duplicity…
The Lord can read our hearts, motives, and attitudes. May I always be honest before Him.
Proverbs 26:12 Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.
May I never be wise in my own eyes.
Luke 20:2 “Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said. “Who gave you this authority?”
Even today people question Jesus’ authority. They don’t question His historicity; they question if He has the right to proclaim His Lordship over their lives.
Proverbs 25:28 Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.
Lord, give me self control, so that I may not fall or be destroyed.
Luke 19:48 …all the people hung on His words.
May I continue to marvel at the Word of God!
Proverbs 24:30-34 I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observedand learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber,a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.
Laziness yields nothing but poverty. Work is a gift from God that I should not take for granted and that I should use wisely.
Luke 19:33-34 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.”
So often I question the Lord’s sovereign ownership of what I have. I need to remember that His will and His ways in my life will usually run counter to what I selfishly desire.
