Luke 23:26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
May I be prepared at any moment to bear the cross for Jesus!
Luke 23:26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.
May I be prepared at any moment to bear the cross for Jesus!
Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
Am I working to reap everlasting Heavenly rewards or futile, earthly riches?
Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Do I ask the Lord to “teach me” or only to “give me?” May I learn from you, Father.
Luke 10:41-42 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Lord, help me to listen at your feet, rather than to worry about potential disaster and the actions of others.
Luke 9:61-62 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
“But first…” Do I try to tell God I have other things to do before I do the work He asks me to do? Lord, help me to be obedient.
Luke 8:38-39 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Missions work is more than global, it is local. May I proclaim to those in my home town what Jesus has done for me!
Luke 23:2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”
People made false accusations about Jesus so I am in good company.
Luke 7:50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Faith heals, protects, and saves. Lord, may my life have plentiful and abundant faith in You.
Luke 22:53 “Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
That last sentence is interesting. Satan will have his that the devil had ever done!
Luke 6:27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Lord, enable me to love people completely and without question, even if they hate me.
