Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
Note that the devil did not just tempt Jesus at the end. Instead, Satan tempted Jesus each and every day until His hunger made Him the most vulnerable. We must watch out as Satan doesn’t only come once; he builds up to when we are at our weakest.
