Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord.

There is Biblical precedence to physically block evil from our lives.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Good reminder as we watch earthly governments flounder.

The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.
Psalm 99:1//

God is the one in charge. Not Congress, nor the President, nor the Constitution, but God and His Word reign supreme now and forever more.

Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.
Psalm 97:12//

I need to spend less time complaining and more time rejoicing.

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Do I spend time declaring the glory of the Lord to those around me?

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

Regulations and laws that do not subvert the will of God should be respected and followed. A painful truth for those who are fiercely independent. Lord, may I not bring judgment on myself or my family.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

This is a great reminder as we get ready to start anew after a difficult year endured by the world.

He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the Lord our God will destroy them.

While it feels like the wicked last far too long on Earth, be assured that the Lord will repay them for their sins.

Your statutes, Lord, stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days.
Psalm 93:5//

The law of our land may not last forever, but the laws put in place by God will never cease.
