Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

When I feel I should back down from the Gospel, may I remember that I should not be ashamed of it because of the power of God.

Luke 22:31-32 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you…”

Praying for one another interrupts Satan’s attacks on each other. May I be a better intercessor!

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

A God who is a counselor, loving as a father, and the epitome of peace. . .who could ask for anything more? Thank You, Father!

John 1:10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.

Do I recognize Jesus in my life? Or, do I attempt to ignore Him and go in my own sinful ways? Lord, may I follow You and recognize You working in my life!

Luke 22:25-26 Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that.”

As a leader I need to model the heart of a servant. Help me, Lord!

Luke 22:24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.

May my goal be to become humble, not to become great. 

Luke 2:49-50 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

There will be things God asks of me that I will not understand. But, He always knows what He is doing and why He is doing it.

Luke 1:37 For no word from God will ever fail.

Do I truly believe this? Father, give me strong faith.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

It’s funny how this earth seems so permanent and we doubt God’s Word. In reality the opposite is true. Lord, give me eternal perspectives. 

Matthew 2:13-14 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,

“Get up”, “Stay there until I tell you”, and “so he got up”…do I have the type of faith that enables me to obey God immediately and indefinitely?
