2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
Our faith is passed on to our children’s children. Lord, may I have great faith!
Luke 6:41 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
May I spend more time self-evaluating than judging the faults of others.
1 Timothy 6:18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
We are called to be generous in both our time and money with others. My selfishness often exceeds my generosity. Do I willingly share what I have? Am I rich in good deeds by serving others? Or, do I spend time and money only on myself? Lord, enable me to give graciously and abundantly of both.
Luke 6:40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.
May I mentor and teach others well, O Lord.
1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Do I put my family above my own selfish desires or do I always put myself first? Lord, give me a selfless heart.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
What the world calls “karma” God calls a biblical principle. Father, may I give love, blessing, kindness, forgiveness, Grace, mercy, patience, and encouragement to other people!
1 Timothy 4:16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
We are not called to give up when life gets hard, or when our course following Christ seems impossible. Instead, we are called to “persevere”…to continue on in the face of tragedy, difficulty, or hopeless circumstances. Father, enable me to persevere in my walk to be like You, and lead others to You as they watch how I handle my struggles.
Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
Father, I can only do these things if You help me.
1 Timothy 3:5 If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?
Lord, help me to manage my family in a loving and respectful way, and enable me to have the same attitude with my church family.
