Luke 2:49-50 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
There will be things God asks of me that I will not understand. But, He always knows what He is doing and why He is doing it.
Luke 1:37 For no word from God will ever fail.
Do I truly believe this? Father, give me strong faith.
Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
It’s funny how this earth seems so permanent and we doubt God’s Word. In reality the opposite is true. Lord, give me eternal perspectives.
Matthew 2:13-14 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.” So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,
“Get up”, “Stay there until I tell you”, and “so he got up”…do I have the type of faith that enables me to obey God immediately and indefinitely?
Matthew 1:22-23 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” which means “God with us”.
“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said”…do I always believe that events in my life will happen based on God’s will for me? Or, do I simply say I believe in the sovereignty of God while practicing only having faith in the power of man? Father, may I always treat You as the Almighty God that I know You are.
Luke 21:15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
Grant me words and wisdom as I live for You!
Proverbs 31:30-31 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Lord, help me to praise and honor my spouse as she honors and praises You.
Proverbs 30:9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown youand say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
Lord, may I never disown You or dishonor You for mere worldly wealth.
Luke 21:14 [Jesus said] “But make up your mind not to worry beforehand…”
Worry is not an automatic response; it is a choice I make. I need to determine that I will not worry “beforehand.” Lord, help me to trust You rather than worrying about “what ifs.”
Proverbs 29:11 Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
Lord, enable me to be calm in situations that greatly anger me.
