Luke 5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

Why do I ever doubt God? Lord, strengthen my faith every minute of every hour of every day.

Luke 4:13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

Lord, bind the devil, demons, and their helpers. Keep me from temptation and may I always walk with You, so that there will never be an “opportune time” for Satan to tempt me. Keep my faith and wisdom strong, and fill me with the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Luke 22:44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly.

Does my anguish lead me to more earnest prayer? Or to deeper despair?

Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

In turbulent and angry situations, please give me a gentle attitude that will be seen by all those around me.

Luke 2:20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

We must “return” to live out our lives as changed people. May I be like the shepherds with a heart of praise and gratitude.

2 Kings 17:38-39 Do not forget the covenant I have made with you, and do not worship other gods. Rather, worship the Lord your God; it is he who will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”

May I remember that the Lord is all-powerful and will deliver me as long as I obey Him. Father, may I be obedient to You the rest of my life.

Philippians 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

How amazing it will be to have a transformed body that will be like Jesus!!!

Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

Lord, keep me from being selfish or conceited. Enable me to put others above myself.

Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Honesty, humility, and surrender are all keys in prayer. 

Philippians 1:14 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.

When others see me suffer for Christ, they become emboldened. Lord, use my sufferings to strengthen others.
