“After forty years”…God’s healing, reconciling, refining, and preparation for our lives takes time.

Acts 6:6-7 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.//
When we allow God to use us for His purpose, His Word will spread and the number of believers will increase.

Because Jesus is alive do I have any reason for alarm?

Acts 1:10-11 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Jesus is coming back!!!

May I focus on what God wants me to do in my life, and not be concerned about what His plans are for others.

The death of Jesus can grip the heart of those who consider it.

John 20:8-9 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.//
Even though we see God’s works and believe, we may still not understand.

John 19:12-13 From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders kept shouting, “If you let this man go, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.” When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement which in Aramaic is Gabbatha.//
Fear of men and lack of faith in God make us do unspeakable things.
