Luke 3:2 During the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

God’s Word can come to us in the most challenging, difficult circumstances. Speak to me, dear Father!

Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 

Help me to carry the burdens of others in a Godly way; not taking them upon myself, but relying on knowing You are in total control.

Luke 2:50 But they [Jesus’ parents] did not understand what He was saying to them.
Sometimes what the Lord says to us is hard to understand. Grant me greater clarity!

Galatians 6:1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 

When others around me fail, give me a gentle Spirit to help restore them. Keep my heart guarded, focused on You, and keep my hope in You, Father; so that I may not fall into the same trap.

Luke 2:29 NIV “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised…

May my prayers be based on God’s sovereignty and His promises. 

Galatians 6:3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 

Lord, keep me humble and keep me focused that my identity is not within my works or my job, but within You and being obedient to You.

Luke 2:20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Praise was the response of the shepherds to Gods faithfulness. That should be my response as well. 

Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 

Freedom enables us to serve others, not satisfy our own selfish desires. Lord, give me self control and enable me to remember to serve humbly and with love.

Luke 2:17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,

When we see Christ we are compelled to tell others. 

Galatians 5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Lord, enable me to stay humble even when I experience great blessings that You have provided.
