1 Samuel 26:25 Then Saul said to David, “May you be blessed, David my son; you will do great things and surely triumph.”So David went on his way, and Saul returned home. 
When we do what the Lord asks of us by showing love to our enemies, they will no longer pursue us.

Luke 12:29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.
Is my heart “set” on earthly issues or trusting Christ for heavenly issues?

1 Samuel 25:39 When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Praise be to the Lord, who has upheld my cause against Nabal for treating me with contempt. He has kept his servant from doing wrong and has brought Nabal’s wrongdoing down on his own head.” Then David sent word to Abigail, asking her to become his wife. 
May I let the Lord deal with those who do me harm.

Luke 12:25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life ?
Jesus recognizes the futility of worrying. Do I?

1 Samuel 24:3-6 He came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave. The men said, “This is the day the Lord spoke of when he said to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish.’” Then David crept up unnoticed and cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his robe. He said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.” 
The Lord gives us choices when dealing with our personal enemies. We can do them harm or grant them mercy. Which one would I choose for my enemies?

1 Samuel 23:1-4 When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,” he inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The Lord answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.” But David’s men said to him, “Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!” Once again David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand.” 
How often does my fear or the fear of others make me question the Lord’s direction? Lord, give me strong faith.

Luke 12:21-22 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.”
Vs. 21 is connected to vs. 22. If I don’t value my spiritual riches I will default to worry. 

1 Samuel 22:13-16 Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, giving him bread and a sword and inquiring of God for him, so that he has rebelled against me and lies in wait for me, as he does today?” Ahimelek answered the king, “Who of all your servants is as loyal as David, the king’s son-in-law, captain of your bodyguard and highly respected in your household? Was that day the first time I inquired of God for him? Of course not! Let not the king accuse your servant or any of his father’s family, for your servant knows nothing at all about this whole affair.” But the king said, “You will surely die, Ahimelek, you and your whole family.” 
There will be people in my life who speak the truth to me that I do not want to hear. Lord, may I be willing to listen to others when you speak the truth through them.

Luke 12:21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
Which riches do I prioritize? May spiritual riches be my highest aim. 

1 Samuel 20:4 Jonathan said to David, “Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do for you.” 
Jonathan was willing to do “whatever” his best friend, David, needed; even if it meant his own death. Authentic love is demonstrated in our actions toward others when we serve them without limits.
