2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord.//

Genesis 42:21-23
They said to one another, “Surely we are being punished because of our brother. We saw how distressed he was when he pleaded with us for his life, but we would not listen; that’s why this distress has come on us.” Reuben replied, “Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn’t listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood.” They did not realize that Joseph could understand them, since he was using an interpreter.//
Hearing one’s own brothers talk about your death after many years in front of you would make me bitter. It makes me thankful that the Lord forgives.

Genesis 41:57
And all the world came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe everywhere.//
When life becomes difficult, those who have not saved will come to those who were wise with what they had.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.//
Death and destruction occurs when I violate God’s truth. 

Genesis 40:23
The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.//
When we help people and they forget about us, I must learn not to hold a grudge.

Genesis 38:7
But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.//
God punishes the wicked.

Genesis 37:35
All his sons and daughters came to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son in the grave. ” So his father wept for him.//
When we are sad, we can choose to become depressed and bitter.

2 Thessalonians 2:5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?//
Our tendency is to forget what we have learned about the Lord and His Word. 

Genesis 36:43
Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied. This is the family line of Esau, the father of the Edomites.//
Out of the many reasons that the Bible is true, why would someone take the time to make up fictitious names that are never mentioned again?

Genesis 32:11-12
Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children. But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.’”//
Fear will subside when we are confident that the Lord will keep His promises to us and protect us.
