Daily Devo – Blind Devotion

How long, Lord God Almighty, will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people? You have fed them with the bread of tears; you have made them drink tears by the bowlful. You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us.
Psalm 80:4-6//

Besides songs of praise, Psalm has another theme: complaining about how God treats His people. When I complain about God perceived abandonment, I need to remember that praise always comes next because He is always good and righteous in His ways, even if we do not understand them.

They said in their hearts, “We will crush them completely!” They burned every place where God was worshiped in the land. We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.
Psalm 74:8-9//

The enemy of God may try to keep us from worshipping and praising our God in this seemingly un-ending season. But, this isn’t the first time in history this has occurred. Our God will prevail and deliver us.

Interesting that David, the man after God’s own heart, specifically asks for some people not to receive salvation.
