Exodus 28:43
Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die. “This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants.//
God and guilt cannot exist in the same place at the same time.
Exodus 27:21
In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come.//
A light in the dark reminds us of God’s glory and a beacon of hope in a world of darkness.
Exodus 23:33
Do not let them live in your land or they will cause you to sin against me, because the worship of their gods will certainly be a snare to you.”//
The worship of other gods by other people will cause issues when they live among us.
Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?//
God is inescapable. Good news for believers; bad news for unbelievers.
Exodus 22:27
because that cloak is the only covering your neighbor has. What else can they sleep in? When they cry out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.//
The Lord hears my cries because He is compassionate.
Exodus 19:8
The people all responded together, “We will do everything the Lord has said.” So Moses brought their answer back to the Lord.//
How often do I say this same thing…and then fail to follow through?
Psalm 139:3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.//
God knows the way I am.
Exodus 18:17-18
Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.//
I cannot handle difficult tasks alone. I need to remember to ask for help from others when it is needed.
Psalm 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; with your right hand you save me.//
Trouble will always be there…but so is God’s preserving power!
