Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

I am a thief. But God’s grace is greater still. Thank You, Lord, for the promise of heaven for thieves like me. 

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

When people hurt me and don’t even know it, am I willing to forgive them?

Luke 14:33 In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.

When called, help me to have the courage, strength, and faith to give up everything to follow You.

Luke 23:32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.

These men were literally crucified with Christ. They became the first of many – as Paul would later write, may I, too, be crucified with Christ!

Luke 13:24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 
Lord, enable me to walk through the narrow door via my faith in Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior!

Luke 23:26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.

May I be prepared at any moment to bear the cross for Jesus!

Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Am I working to reap everlasting Heavenly rewards or futile, earthly riches?

Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 

Do I ask the Lord to “teach me” or only to “give me?” May I learn from you, Father.

Luke 10:41-42 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Lord, help me to listen at your feet, rather than to worry about potential disaster and the actions of others.

Luke 9:61-62 Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

“But first…” Do I try to tell God I have other things to do before I do the work He asks me to do? Lord, help me to be obedient.
