Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”//
The death of Jesus can grip the heart of those who consider it.

John 20:8-9 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.//
Even though we see God’s works and believe, we may still not understand.

John 19:12-13 From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders kept shouting, “If you let this man go, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar.” When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement which in Aramaic is Gabbatha.//
Fear of men and lack of faith in God make us do unspeakable things.

Mark 15:33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.//
Where sin rules darkness pervades.

John 18:3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.//
Evil often brings with it an offense that appears insurmountable, but defeating the enemy is possible with God.

John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.//
Even Jesus prayed to protect us from the evil one. Lord, protect us from Satan and those who help him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

John 16:1 “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.//
We must study the Word of God, so that we will remain close to Him.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.//
Letting our hearts be troubled leads to fear, and fear is the enemy of peace.

John 13:21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, “Very truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.”//
Even Jesus became troubled. Lord, may I be comforted in the face of adversity.

John 12:16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.//
Sometimes we don’t understand what God is telling us until we see His work come to fruition.
