Psalm 118:13

I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me.//

When facing pushback there will be a supernatural strength from the Lord that will help me.

When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

Mark 5:27-31//

Simply being around Jesus isn’t the same as believing in Him.

Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

Mark 4:38//

When storms come my way, I need to resist thinking that God does not care about me.

Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent. He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

Mark 3:4-5//

When people are stubborn and refuse to do the right thing, it is not necessarily sinful for me to be angry at them.

Psalm 118:9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.//

My hope is not in Washington or the economy. It is in Christ.

When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

Matthew 28:17//

When I have doubts, I am in good company.

Psalm 118:7 NIV

The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.//

Somehow the Lord provides help to me in ways I don’t even understand.

“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!” “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

Matthew 27:22-23//

My sins make me one of the voices who yelled out to crucify Him. . .what a horrible thought that my sinful nature could bring such torture to the Son of God. Lord, forgive me for my sins.

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?

Jesus knows my heart, thoughts, and motives.
