1 Corinthians 7:23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings. 

I must remember that I must always keep God above all people in my life, including my children and my spouse.

Romans 15:30 I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.

We join in the struggles of others by praying for them. May I intercede for the hurts and afflictions of my family and friends!

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 

Sexual immorality is unique compared to all other sins. Lord, keep me from any temptation of any type of sexual immorality.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God will give us joy and peace as a result of a certain condition: “as you trust in Him.”

Lord, help me to keep believing in Your Word and character so that Your joy and peace may fill my life. 

1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. 

We are instructed to not associate with certain people that claim to be followers of Christ, but have given in to and accept sin, including sexual immorality. Lord, help me to set appropriate boundaries when these types of people enter my life.

Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Apparently my willingness to accept the faults of others will determine my ability to worship. Lord, help me. 

1 Corinthians 4:2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 

What good is faith if it is never tested? Lord, may my faith prove my trust in You.

Romans 15:5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,

I need Christ’s attitude toward other people. How do I get such an attitude?  In this verse Paul prayed for it. 

1 Corinthians 3:18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 

Lord, enable me to humble myself when it comes to learning about You. Please give me wisdom and teach me Your ways.

1 Corinthians 6:14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

The power of God brought Jesus from death back to life. God will do the same for me. What blessed truth!
