Luke 9:18 Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”
Private prayer enables us to ask others the right questions. Lord, grant me such wisdom.
Luke 9:18 Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”
Private prayer enables us to ask others the right questions. Lord, grant me such wisdom.
1 John 2:11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.
Hate keeps us from loving and being in the light. To see again, we must learn to love again.
Luke 9:17 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
The bread Jesus supplies satisfies.
1 John 1:3-4 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.
Joy is complete when we have fellowship with God and we proclaim the Gospel to others.
2 Peter 3:5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
Forgetting God causes a lack of faith and inhibits our ability to see His amazing works.
Luke 9:16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people.
Gratitude precedes miracle. May I be more thankful, expecting God to do what only He can do!
2 Peter 2:19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”
When we give in to sin, it controls us completely.
Luke 9:13 They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.”
When facing a challenge do I focus on what I DON’T have or on what the Lord DOES have?
2 Peter 1:3a His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life. . .
Does my heart remember this when it desires something that is merely a want? The key is to focus on His power, rather than my greed.
Luke 9:9 But Herod said, “I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?” And he tried to see him.
Guilt, sin, and self-rule can prevent us from seeing Jesus.
