Genesis 17:1-2 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”//
God can work in our lives and change the world through us, even at a very old age.

Genesis 16:11-12 The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”//
Our actions have consequences regarding how our children will grow up.

Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.//
Believing God can have righteousness credited to us.

Genesis 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.//
This is the first time we see the tithe in scripture.

1 Thessalonians 5:17pray continually//
I need to maintain an ongoing conversation with the Lord throughout my day.

Genesis 13:2 Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.//
Having great wealth does not make a person evil, immoral, greedy, or bad.

Genesis 9:21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.//
Even after being chosen by God among everyone on the earth, Noah still messed up. I’m glad I’m not the only one who still messes up after being granted God’s grace.

1 Thessalonians So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.//
I need to be aware of what God is doing and what He had promised to do. 

Genesis 8:3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down,//
While it only rained for 40 days and 40 nights, the water remained for 150 days. I forget that it may time for the Lord to work and heal.

Genesis 7:16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord shut him in.//
Note that it is the Lord who closes the ark. Sometimes God puts us in small places with only those close to us to protect us.
