When God judges and disciplines people it is always the right thing to do.

Genesis 26:14-15 He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him. So all the wells that his father’s servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth.//
Envy is more than mere jealousy. It is wanting someone else’s possessions to the point where you don’t want that person to have them. Lord, help me to not be envious of others.

Genesis 24:67 Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.//
Our spouse may be our only human comfort after a parent’s death.

Genesis 22:11-12 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”//
Apparently, the “the angel of the Lord” is a reference to part of the trinity.

Grace precedes peace. Without embracing God’s grace I will never know God’s peace.

Genesis 21:17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.//
God hears the cries of children.

Genesis 20:17-18 Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again, for the Lord had kept all the women in Abimelek’s household from conceiving because of Abraham’s wife Sarah.//
The Lord heals us when we return to a righteous path.

Genesis 19:31-32 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.”//
Not trusting in God will cause us to do wicked things.

Genesis 18:19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”//
The Lord chooses us; it doesn’t appear to be the other way around.
