Acts 17:16-17 While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

Rather than becoming overwhelmed with stress in an impure society, we should seek to share God’s word with anyone and everyone who will listen.

Acts 15:39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus,

There will be disagreements between close friends that will cause them to go separate ways. Lord, may I always keep You as my focus and know that You will even use separated friends to spread Your word.

2 Corinthians 12:10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

May I view my weakness as an opportunity for Gods strength to be more evident in my life!

Acts 12:23-24 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

The word of God will spread in spite of sin, evil, and worldly authorities that attempt to stand against it. Flesh will fail, but God and His promises are eternal.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Teach me to rely on the sufficiency of Your grace, O Lord.
