for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.

for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.
Romans 11:29//
Lord, please reveal Your calling for my life!
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10//
This is how you can be saved through the blood of Christ. It requires no works. It does not require baptism. It doesn’t require you to “do” anything. The gift of salvation is free. I pray all that read this take the step of faith in Jesus today.
Colossians 4:3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.//
I need to pray more often for “open doors.”
What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
Romans 9:30-32//
Pursuing salvation via any type of work, including baptism, is a dangerous road to follow. We must remember that we are saved by faith, not by works.
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Romans 8:5-7//
What I set my mind to and what I let lead it will determine how I act toward God.
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Romans 6:11-12//
Lord, help me to make righteous choices so that I am not a slave to sin!
Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.//
Prayer enables me to be more vigilant and aware of the enemy’s schemes.
Here is my devo tonight…hadn’t thought of it this way before.
because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
Romans 4:15//
If there is no transgression, there is no need for a Savior. Hence, Jesus fulfills the law.
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Romans 3:19-20//
Works will not get me into Heaven, including the work of baptism. Having faith in Jesus and accepting Him as my Savior is the one and only way to Heaven.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Romans 1:16//
Here we are given the reason not to be ashamed of the Gospel. . .because it provides salvation. May I remember this when discussing my beliefs with others.
