For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Lord, remind me that the troubles of this life are momentary and that I need to focus on You; not on my troubles.

Psalm 107:21-22 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.//

Gratitude needs to be a normal part of my life.

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:16-17//

Remind me that I am free and allow me to feel the removal of the veil on my heart all over again.

The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.
2 Corinthians 2:6-7//

Punishment for sins in the church is acceptable, but there is a limit. If we do not forgive and love that person, they will be taken to a very dark place where it is hard to feel the power of grace.

Psalm 107:20
God sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.//

God’s Word brings healing and ultimate rescue.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4//

We are comforted so that we can comfort others. Thus, we must endure troubles to experience God’s comfort so that we can share God’s comfort when others face trials.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14//

Apparently, these are all related.

Psalm 107:6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.//

May my cry go to Him in times of trouble.

After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
1 Corinthians 15:6//

Christ appeared to 500 people “at the same time.” Is it really possible that all 500 people could lie about the same event at the exact same time? Note that some have “fallen asleep,” meaning some went to the grave bearing this truth to others.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13//

Without love, nothing I do matters.
