Isaiah 6:6-7 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”//
I not only need forgiveness from His Altar, I also need my guilt dealt with.
For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.
Hebrews 4:2//
The same is true today. Christianity is of no value to some because they do not believe. Lord, help me to reach the lost who will believe in You.
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.
Hebrews 3:1//
You have heard to fix your eyes on Jesus. Following Him requires more than this action, it requires us to fix our “thoughts” on Him, so that our actions may follow our thoughts.
Isaiah 6:5
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips…”//
I need to confess my sins specifically.
and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them.
Hebrews 2:8//
“Yet at present we do not see everything”… there are some things I will not know or see until we reach eternity with our God.
Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Hebrews 1:14//
Lord, surround us with Your presence and Your angels.
Isaiah 6:3 And they were calling to one another, “Holy, holy , holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
God’s holiness is something I need to consider and proclaim to myself and others.
Isaiah 6:1
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.//
Loss and pain tend to enable us to see the Lord more clearly.
to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
Titus 3:2//
Lord, grant me a peaceable spirit, so that others will experience Your peace through my actions.
Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
Titus 2:6-8//
Lord, help me to be this example to young men.
