The account of Jesus Christ comes from many primary sources with the same theme of love and grace. It would be intellectually dishonest of me to not believe there is a God or that Jesus is His Son and died for my sins.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:7-8//

Apparently, anxiety can lead to lack of awareness and sobriety in our minds. It can cause us to be devoured by the evil one. Lord, help me to cast my cares upon You, so that I may not become overwhelmed with anxiety.

Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
1 Peter 3:7//

If my marriage is unhealthy (as it depends on me), it will hinder my prayers.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10//

Despite how weary I am, enable me to use my gifts to reach others for You.

Isaiah 7:2
Now the house of David was told, “Aram has allied itself with Ephraim ”; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.//

When life happens we can get shaken; we need to remember the previous chapter where God was still on His throne.

but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:8//

My primary mode of communication should default to listen and speak only when necessary.

Isaiah 6:11
Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”//

This seems to be a question that we ask a lot. We are consumed by time frames. We need to trust God for the timetables that plague us.

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17//

May my faith be demonstrated in my actions.

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
Hebrews 2:1//

If we do not pay attention to God’s Word and obey it, we will easily be swept away by the tides of sin.

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12//

Lord, grant me wisdom, understanding, patience, perseverance, and peace. Help me to endure the race. In Jesus’ name, amen.
