Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
Philemon 1:11//
Useless people can be changed by the grace of God to become useful.
Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.
Philemon 1:11//
Useless people can be changed by the grace of God to become useful.
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
Titus 3:3//
Just like everyone else, I am still a sinner and better than no one. My only redeeming factor is that I am saved by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
Titus 2:6-8//
Lord, help me to be an encourager to men, an example, and to maintain my integrity.
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
Titus 1:15-16//
Our actions really do speak louder than our words.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
2 Timothy 4:3-5//
The Lord charges us with spreading the truth, even when others fall astray and have masses teaching falsehoods.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
2 Timothy 3:1-5//
Lord, help me to keep Your commands and do Your work, so that I may not become one of these people.
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
2 Timothy 2:23-26//
Lord, help me to be loving, gentle, kind, and have nothing to do with “stupid arguments”.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7//
If the Lord is with me, I shall not fear.
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge,
1 Timothy 6:20//
Lord, keep me grounded in Your Word, filled with wisdom and faith.
The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them.
1 Timothy 5:24//
Just becaue someone looks righteous from the outside does not make them holy or sinless. Only Jesus is sinless.
