6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

I should not be alarmed at hearing all of the atrocities that are constantly occurimg.

4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

Lord, help me to not burden others and enable me to help fellow believers with their burdens.

Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are.
Matthew 22:15-16//

You either believe Jesus is the Son of God or you don’t. He can’t be truthful, full of integrity, and a liar. Jesus is who He says He is. He is the Son of God.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Yesterday and today, the masses do not recognize Jesus for who He is; the Son of God.

12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’ 13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?
Matthew 20:12-13//

Lord, help me not to grumble when I think You are unfair.

Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?”
Matthew 19:27//

How often I focus on what God will do for me.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
Matthew 18:35//

Lord, help me to forgive others from my heart. May You make me as graceful and merciful as You.

When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”
Matthew 17:6-7//

We are specifically told Jesus “touched” them. In order for us to move forward from feelings that paralyze us, we must feel the touch of Jesus.

The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.
Matthew 16:1//

Two competing factions both united against Christ. How often we see this today with non-believers. The ways of the world have not changed.

18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
Matthew 15:18-19//

I must be careful to put only good things in my heart, and not let my heart hold evil thoughts.
