And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

Obedience to God is a result of our love for Him.
If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.
1 John 5:16//
There are things I should and should not pray for. Lord, help my friends who are currently dealing with overwhelming sin in their life.
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
1 John 4:2-3//
This is how to test what is and is not from God.
Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.
1 John 3:13//
I don’t think I’m surprised anymore, but I do grow weary of this wicked world as it continues to devolve into greater sin and debauchery. Lord, remind me that You will defeat evil and have overcome this world.
Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
1 John 2:22-23//
People who deny that Jesus is the Son of God are liars. They know the truth, but they deny Him.
If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:10//
People who live in sin, but reject their actions are sinful, do not have the word in them.
Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
2 Peter 3:3-5//
Evil, “scientific” evolution, and scoffers. These are now inherent in the days we live.
Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
2 Peter 2:22//
There are people in this world who will never learn and will always return to their wicked ways.
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:20-21//
Recorded prophecy is from God, not man.
In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
1 Peter 5:5//
Lord, clothe me in humility and grant me a humble spirit.
