Luke 3:21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened…Prayer opens up the heavens. Teach me to pray, Lord!

Ephesians 4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 

Keep the devil from me, bind him and his helpers so they cannot attack me or gain a foothold.

Luke 3:15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah.Am I “waiting expectantly” for what God is planning on doing it am I just waiting?

Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 

Father, help me to be like You. Keep me from being my old self.

Luke 3:12-14 Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?” “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them. Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” 

God can change the hearts of people…even those who I might think can never change. Do I truly believe that?

Ephesians 3:16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 

Lord, strengthen me. Keep me faithful to Your word and Your ways. Keep my heart guarded and pure. Amen.

Luke 3:10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked.

When I hear God’s Word I need to always make it practical to my own life and think through, “what does God want me to do?”

Ephesians 2:1-2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 

Satan is at work in the lives of those who are disobedient. Lord, bind the enemy and keep me from spiritual attack as well as people used as tools of the enemy.

 Luke 3:8Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Repentance happens only when fruitful words/actions/attitudes are evident. 

Ephesians 1:15-16 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 

I am reminded that I should be thankful for believers I know that have faith and who love. Lord, thank You for these people in my life. Continue to bless them abundantly with wisdom and grace.
