Daily Devo – Blind Devotion

1 Peter 3:15-16 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Do I always have the reason for my hope prepared at a moment’s notice? Lord, when this happens, enable me to be prepared and to be respectful, gentle, and kind.

1 Peter 1:6-7 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Suffering, grief, trials, and tribulations are all designed to help prove our faith is genuine.

James 4:2-3 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Lord, please give me an attitude of gratitude. Enable me to give generously out of what You give me, so that others may find You. Make my motives pure when I ask for anything. Amen.
