Luke 12:13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
How often we want Jesus to straighten other people out. I need to deal with issues in my own life and let the Lord deal with others as He sees fit.

1 Samuel 18:14 In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him.
Lord, may everything I do please You and may You be with me in everything I do, so that Your kingdom may grow.

1 Samuel 17:28 When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.”
When I do what the Lord asks of me, there will be people who do not understand. Lord, enable me to do Your will in the face of adversity against giants I don’t know, as well as giants I do know.

Luke 12:11-12 NIV[11] “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, [12] for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
God’a Spirit will provide me with what I need for every occasion.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
May I learn to see people how the Lord sees them. Father, enable me to look past the outward appearance and instead, look at the heart.

1 Samuel 15:35 Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
Lord, keep me from making mistakes that divide my relationships with others. May I always obey You, so that You may never regret what You have done for me.

Luke 12:8 “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.
Jesus is proud of me when I speak a word of testimony.

1 Samuel 14:36 Saul said, “Let us go down and pursue the Philistines by night and plunder them till dawn, and let us not leave one of them alive.” “Do whatever seems best to you,” they replied. But the priest said, “Let us inquire of God here.”
I need to remember to inquire what God wants me to do and not rely on what others want me to do.

Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
God knows me intimately and values me eternally. Thank You, Father.

1 Samuel 13:6 When the Israelites saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns.
When my situation is critical, do I hide or do I face the difficult situation fully trusting in the Lord?
