2 Samuel 7:1 After the king was settled in his palace and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies around him, 
Lord, thank You for giving me rest from those who oppose me.

Luke 13:2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?”
How easy it is to jump to conclusions when it comes to the reason for our suffering. May I be more careful not to make assumptions, Lord. 

2 Samuel 10:19 When all the kings who were vassals of Hadadezer saw that they had been routed by Israel, they made peace with the Israelites and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites anymore. 
God will overcome our enemies to the point that they will no longer be a threat.

2 Samuel 6:20-23 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!” David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.” And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death. 
When others celebrate before the Lord, do I put my own interest first before God’s interests? Lord, may I always put You first in my own life and when I deal with others.

Luke 12:49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!”
May the fire of the Holy Spirit become ablaze in my life! 

2 Samuel 5:10 And he became more and more powerful, because the Lord God Almighty was with him. 
Power comes from God, not me. I am nothing without the Almighty Father.

Luke 12:48 From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
May I be faithful with all You have given me — my time, my gifts, my money, my love, my family…everything!

Luke 12:42 The Lord answered, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge…?”
I need to be both faithful AND wise as I steward what God has entrusted to me. 

2 Samuel 3:39 And today, though I am the anointed king, I am weak, and these sons of Zeruiah are too strong for me. May the Lord repay the evildoer according to his evil deeds!” 
Do I remember that the Lord is greater than all men and is capable of destroying all evil and those who do evil? May my God never be limited by my imagination and my own physical and mental weakness.

Luke 12:40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
May I live in expectation of Your return, Lord.
