2 Peter 2:2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.//
There are people who will lead believers astray, causing them to fall into sin, and creating a poor image of God’s people to the rest of the world. May I not be fooled, nor lead others into sinful and foolish ways.

1 Peter 5:2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;//
Leadership is not something I must do; it is only granted if I am willing to serve.

1 Peter 4:7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.//
Each day is a day closer to the end of all things. Help me to pray continuously, oh Lord.

Psalm 40:11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me.//
Protect me and my loved ones, Lord.  

Psalm 40:9 I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, Lord, as you know.//
May I share with others how God has been faithful to me. 

1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.//
Lord, help me to be gracious, respectful, and loving to my wife.

Psalm 40:8 I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.//
Exposure to God’s Word will increase my desire to do His will.  

1 Peter 1:6-7 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.//
I need to remember my suffering results in praise, glory, and honor for Jesus. Lord, may I stay focused on You in trials and tribulations.

Psalm 40:5 Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done.// 

How quickly I forget His marvelous works, provisions, and miracles. 

James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.//
Getting close to God first requires a conscience decision on my part to move closer to Him.
